We just finished the first rehearsing session for our upcoming debut album.
Currently we're working a lot on drum arrangements since the drums will be the first to be recorded. We will of course work to improve all elements and structures of the songs eventually. Just to ensure that you, the fan get the best album Astralion can provide.

From Astralion's whole production so far which includes 16 songs, 11 have been carefully chosen for the record. It's been a really hard task because there was so much great material to choose from.



We have also been granted a generous financial contribution from Svenska Kulturfonden (the Swedish Cultural Foundation in Finland.) Which will certainly help in paying the studio fees. Whether the record will be released through a label or independently is not yet decided but one thing's for sure, our “beast” will be released!



The recording sessions will start in the beginning of July and continue towards the fall of 2013. So stay tuned for more news!

Usually in this business when somethings go wrong, they really go wrong. Perhaps you could call it ”The Spinal Tap” factor.

Yesterday was our official music video release party and there we were,venue booked, all arrangements done but with no video to show.
We didn't recieve the final version of the video, and we didn't want to show you any "half-done" version of the video. This really sucks but
we just can't help it 'cause it's not in our hands. There's been problems since the beginning with actors scedules, technical problems you name it.
And worst of all they seem to continue!

We will release the song "At The Edge Of The World" as a downloadable single, and when we get the final version of the video then we'll
upload it to web. But at this point we can't tell you when it's gonna happen, because we simply don't know...

Big thanks to Hank Productions for organizing the "video release party". After all it was a great evening with great bands
like Bad Monk's Hill and Sinful Nation. And we had a good time.
And sorry to all the people that came particularly to see our music video.

music video is a never before recorded song by
Astralion (some of you may have heard us play
it live if you've payed attention at our latest gigs).

The song entitled: ”At The Edge Of The World” was
recorded and mixed at the
D-Studio in Klaukkala, Finland by Jarno Hänninen.

The Video's main purpose will be to give you all
who haven't seen us live yet a good picture of Astralion as
a live band aswell as showing you a new, fresh turn in
our musical direction.

We've put our heart and soul into this project and so has
the film team. Chris Marins who's made up the storyline
for the video sure has a few suprises waiting for you.

So stay tuned folks, next up will be the announcement of the
release date!

New Land Pictures.

We've just finished shooting the "band parts" of the video The "story parts" will
also be filmed within a few weeks.

After that the video goes straight to the editing table.
And as soon as our editors have done their "magic" with the material
we'll be able to set a date for the release. So stay tuned folks

The venue closed it's doors due to a constant lack of punters
over the past months!

No one is more disappointed than us that
the event will not now be taking place, but unfortunately the

A few gigs behind, a few more coming up and there's also been
negotiating with venues from all over Finland. If everything
goes well, we'll be seeing you all out there very soon! There will also
soon be a tour diary added to our "Tour" section so stay tuned.

We've also been busy writing new songs, and can now proudly
announce that we finally have enough material for a full lenght record.
Not a bad achievement in a year considering everyone's still got their
"beloved" dayjobs to attend to.

And more big news! Astralion together with "New Land Pictures" are
at the moment working together on a music video. The video will be directed
by Chris Marins. Marins has directed a few great music videos over the years
along with some short films and the ghost hunt series:"Chasing the dead".
Back in 2007 he also directed the music video "Frozen" for Ian's and K.Lundell's former band Olympos Mons.

And it's getting even better! For the video we will also release a brand new song
which will off course stay a secret until the video is completed.
The song however will be included in our live set.
